Whiteline Front Roll Center / Bump Steer Correction Kit – 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R

Description:

Whiteline Front Roll Center / Bump Steer Correction Kit - 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R

Fix Bump Steer and Roll Center on the FK8 Type R
Lowering the 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R (FK8) introduces bump steer and roll center migration that degrades the factory suspension geometry. Whiteline's front roll center and bump steer correction kit addresses both problems simultaneously -- correcting the steering geometry changes that lowering introduces and restoring the roll center to a position that matches the suspension behavior Whiteline's geometry engineers determined produces optimal handling on this platform.

DETAILS

• Front roll center and bump steer correction kit for 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R (FK8)
• Corrects bump steer introduced by lowering
• Restores roll center height for correct suspension behavior
• Direct-fit to OEM lower control arm and steering rack geometry
• Required for properly sorted front geometry on lowered FK8 builds

What Bump Steer Does to Handling
Bump steer is when the front wheels steer left or right as the suspension compresses and extends, without any input from the driver. On a lowered FK8, the changed steering rack and control arm geometry causes this effect -- the wheels develop a slight steer angle as they travel through bumps and body roll. Drivers experience this as instability and wandering, particularly in fast corners with uneven road surfaces.

Roll Center Migration From Lowering
Lowering a car doesn't just change ride height -- it moves the suspension geometry's roll center. On MacPherson strut front suspensions like the FK8's, lowering typically drops the roll center and increases the roll moment arm, making body roll worse and changing how the car loads its tyres in corners. Whiteline's correction kit raises the roll center back to the optimal position for the lowered ride height.

The FK8 Type R and Suspension Geometry
The FK8 is a high-performance platform with sophisticated factory suspension calibration. Lowering it without correcting the geometry compromises everything Honda's engineers built into the chassis. This correction kit restores the geometry intent at the new ride height.

Why Choose Whiteline

Whiteline has been engineering suspension components from their facility in Australia since 1979. Every product in their catalog is developed with a clear goal: measurable improvement in handling, stability, and tyre contact. Whiteline's polyurethane bushings, sway bars, control arms, and alignment correction kits are engineered using finite element analysis and validated on track before they reach the market. Their components are direct-fit, bolt-on solutions designed for enthusiasts who want real performance gains without fabrication or custom work.

The RallySport Take

If you've lowered your FK8 and it doesn't feel as good as expected -- or feels worse than stock -- bump steer and roll center migration are likely causes. This kit addresses both comprehensively. Get an alignment after installation -- the offset geometry changes the static alignment readings. The improvement in steering feel and braking stability is noticeable immediately. Combine with a matching rear anti-lift or geometry correction kit for the most complete front end precision package.
