GrimmSpeed V2 Bypass Valve – Red – 2004-2021 Subaru STI / 2002-2007 WRX

Description:

GrimmSpeed V2 Bypass Valve (Red) , 2004-2021 Subaru STI / 2002-2007 WRX

The GrimmSpeed V2 Bypass Valve in red for the 2004-2021 Subaru STI / 2002-2007 WRX replaces the factory recirculating bypass valve with a performance unit that provides more consistent venting of boost pressure during throttle lift events. The factory bypass valve is adequate at stock boost levels but can become a limitation , or fail , as boost pressure increases with modifications.

DETAILS

• Color: Red
• Recirculating design , vents to intake tract
• More consistent valve response than OEM
• Handles elevated boost levels reliably
• Direct replacement for factory bypass valve
• Fitment: 2004-2021 Subaru STI / 2002-2007 WRX

When the throttle closes under boost , shifting gears, lifting off mid-corner , the turbocharger is still spinning and producing boost pressure that has nowhere to go. The bypass valve opens to recirculate this pressure back into the intake tract, preventing compressor surge and protecting the turbocharger. The factory bypass valve is spring-loaded for OEM boost levels , as boost increases, the valve can flutter, leak, or fail to open consistently.

The GrimmSpeed V2 uses a more robust valve design that provides consistent response across a wider boost range. The recirculating design keeps all the boosted air in the intake system rather than venting to atmosphere , this maintains proper MAF readings and avoids the fuel trim issues that atmospheric bypass valves can cause on MAF-based fuel injection systems.

Why Choose GrimmSpeed

GrimmSpeed has been engineering performance parts for Subaru platforms from their Portland, Oregon facility since 2003. Everything they make is designed around real-world use , their engineers drive the same cars their customers drive, which means product decisions are made with genuine platform knowledge behind them. GrimmSpeed designs parts in-house, sources quality materials, and validates fitment on the actual application before release. The result is parts that install correctly the first time, perform as advertised, and hold up under the conditions Subaru owners actually subject their cars to. Whether it is a critical engine component or a cosmetic upgrade, the same attention to detail and fit quality applies across the catalog.

The RallySport Take

The bypass valve upgrade is a smart early modification for any turbocharged Subaru that has had boost increased through a tune or hardware upgrade. The GrimmSpeed V2 is the straightforward solution , drop-in replacement, correct recirculating function, more reliable than the OEM unit at elevated boost. Fits the 2004-2021 Subaru STI / 2002-2007 WRX.
