Grimmspeed Top Mount Intercooler Kit w/ Splitter Black – 2015-2018 Subaru WRX

Description:

GrimmSpeed Top Mount Intercooler Kit with Splitter (Black) , 2015-2018 Subaru WRX

The GrimmSpeed Top Mount Intercooler Kit with Splitter in black for the 2015-2018 Subaru WRX pairs a larger-core TMIC with GrimmSpeed's hood scoop splitter. The intercooler and splitter are engineered as a system , the splitter directs ram air from the factory hood scoop over the intercooler surface, ensuring the larger core delivers its full cooling potential rather than fighting engine bay heat alone.

DETAILS

• TMIC core: black coated aluminum
• Larger core than OEM
• Includes GrimmSpeed hood scoop splitter
• Splitter directs ram air over TMIC surface
• Maintains stock charge pipe routing
• Fitment: 2015-2018 Subaru WRX FA20DIT

The FA20DIT WRX positions its TMIC directly above the engine where radiant heat works against cooling efficiency. The GrimmSpeed TMIC uses a larger core to absorb more heat before charge temperatures climb, but the splitter is the piece that makes the full system work as intended. Without directing airflow from the hood scoop onto the intercooler surface, a significant portion of available ram air passes around the core rather than through it.

At highway speeds and in track conditions where ram air pressure is meaningful, the splitter produces a measurable reduction in charge air temperatures compared to running the TMIC core alone. GrimmSpeed engineers and validates the TMIC and splitter as a matched system for the 2015-2018 WRX's hood scoop geometry.

Why Choose GrimmSpeed

GrimmSpeed has been engineering performance parts for Subaru platforms from their Portland, Oregon facility since 2003. Everything they make is designed around real-world use , their engineers drive the same cars their customers drive, which means product decisions are made with genuine platform knowledge behind them. GrimmSpeed designs parts in-house, sources quality materials, and validates fitment on the actual application before release. The result is parts that install correctly the first time, perform as advertised, and hold up under the conditions Subaru owners actually subject their cars to. Whether it is a critical engine component or a cosmetic upgrade, the same attention to detail and fit quality applies across the catalog.

The RallySport Take

The TMIC kit with splitter is the first intercooler upgrade we recommend for the 2015-2018 WRX. GrimmSpeed designs these together for a reason , the splitter makes the core investment count in the conditions where it matters most. Black core. Fits the 2015-2018 Subaru WRX with FA20DIT.
