Description:

The Shift Knob Your M12x1.25 manual Subaru Deserves

The GrimmSpeed Stubby Shift Knob in Stainless Steel Red is a stainless steel short-throw shift knob for M12x1.25 manual transmissions on compatible Subaru and Ford applications. The stubby design reduces the distance the hand travels between gears for a tighter, more connected feel through the gate. Thread-on installation no adapters, no modification.

Stainless Steel or Delrin Choosing the Right Material for Your Hand

Stainless steel shift knobs are heavier than stock typically two to three times the mass of the factory plastic knob which adds momentum to each shift. A heavier knob resists being rushed, which naturally produces smoother, more deliberate shifts through the gate. Delrin is an engineering plastic with a consistent surface hardness that feels premium in the hand and doesn't transmit heat or cold the way stainless does on a cold morning or after a hot track session, a Delrin knob is more comfortable to grab than bare metal. GrimmSpeed offers both in the same short-throw-compatible M12x1.25 thread spec.

M12x1.25 Thread Direct Replacement on Subaru and Ford ST/Focus Manual Transmissions

Straight From Subispeed

The shift knob is one of the most-touched parts on a manual car and the factory plastic unit on most Subarus doesn't match the car's performance character. The GrimmSpeed Stainless Steel Red stubby short-throw knob is a direct thread-on upgrade five minutes to install, immediately noticeable difference in feel on every shift. The stubby format shortens the throw feel and gives the shifter a more purposeful, motorsport-inspired profile.

About GrimmSpeed

GrimmSpeed is a Pacific Northwest-based performance parts manufacturer that has been building Subaru-specific hardware since 2003. Founded by engineers who were actively building and racing Subarus themselves, GrimmSpeed's catalog reflects the priorities of people who use the products they make turbo inlets, downpipes, uppipes, boost controllers, intercoolers, and engine bay accessories designed specifically for the EJ and FA-series Subaru platforms. Every GrimmSpeed product is engineered, tested, and refined in-house, and their focus on Subaru means the fitment and function reflect a deep understanding of the specific platforms they cover. Subispeed carries the full GrimmSpeed catalog because their approach to product development consistently produces parts that perform as advertised and fit correctly out of the box.
