GrimmSpeed Sound Generator Plug Kit Red – 2015-2017 Subaru STI

Description:

GrimmSpeed Sound Generator Plug Kit (Red), 2015-2017 Subaru WRX STI

The GrimmSpeed Sound Generator Plug Kit seals the factory sound symposer port on the 2015-2017 WRX STI, eliminating the artificial intake sound piped into the cabin. Many owners find the OEM symposer's amplified intake note undesirable and prefer the car's natural mechanical character.

Subaru's Active Sound Symposer uses a tube and membrane to amplify intake noise into the cabin. Plugging it quiets that contribution and lets the mechanical sounds of the turbocharger, bypass valve, and exhaust come through more naturally.

The red aluminum plugs seal the symposer ports cleanly. Installation removes the tube and plugs both the intake connection and the firewall port. Fully reversible.

Why Choose GrimmSpeed

GrimmSpeed has been engineering performance parts for Subaru platforms from their Portland, Oregon facility since 2003. Everything they make is designed around real-world use, their engineers drive the same cars their customers drive, which means product decisions are made with genuine platform knowledge behind them. GrimmSpeed designs parts in-house, sources quality materials, and validates fitment on the actual application before release. The result is parts that install correctly the first time, perform as advertised, and hold up under the conditions Subaru owners actually subject their cars to. Whether it is a critical engine component or a cosmetic upgrade, the same attention to detail and fit quality applies across the catalog.

The RallySport Take

For STI owners who prefer the natural mechanical character over the symposer's amplified note. Fits the 2015-2017 Subaru WRX STI.
