GrimmSpeed Lightweight Battery Tie Down Red – Subaru Models (inc. 2002+ WRX/STI)

Description:

The Detail That Keeps the Battery Where It Belongs

The GrimmSpeed Lightweight Battery Tie Down in Red for the 2002+ Subaru WRX and STI replaces the factory battery hold-down with a laser-cut, CNC-bent 5052 aluminum unit that weighs significantly less than the stock piece and looks like it was designed to be seen. The innovative clamping design lets you remove and reseat the battery quickly without tools useful for track days, dyno pulls, or any time the battery needs to come out fast. Available in Red or Black texture powdercoat.

5052 Aluminum, Laser Cut, CNC Bent Lighter Than Stock

The GrimmSpeed battery tie down is made from 5052 aluminum a lightweight alloy grade with good corrosion resistance and enough strength to hold the battery securely under hard acceleration and cornering. 5052 is significantly lighter than the steel factory hold-down it replaces, and it won't rust or corrode under the battery tray condensation that eventually destroys steel hardware. Laser cutting ensures precise geometry, and CNC bending keeps the clamping geometry consistent part to part.

Quick-Release Clamping Battery Out in Seconds

The clamping design on the GrimmSpeed tie down is engineered for fast access the battery can be mounted and removed without the fumbling that factory hold-down hardware requires. For track use or any build where the battery comes out regularly, this is the detail that saves time and frustration. The screenprinted GrimmSpeed logo keeps the engine bay looking intentional.

Straight From Subispeed

The GrimmSpeed battery tie down is one of those purchases that makes more sense the more you think about it. The factory steel hold-down works fine until it doesn't and it rusts, corrodes, and becomes a problem over time on a car that sees weather. The GrimmSpeed aluminum unit solves that permanently, adds the quick-release clamping that anyone who tracks their car will appreciate, and does it all at a price that makes it an easy yes. Red or Black pick the one that matches the build.

About GrimmSpeed

GrimmSpeed is a Pacific Northwest-based performance parts manufacturer that has been building Subaru-specific hardware since 2003. Founded by engineers who were actively building and racing Subarus themselves, GrimmSpeed's catalog reflects the priorities of people who use the products they make turbo inlets, downpipes, uppipes, boost controllers, intercoolers, and engine bay accessories designed specifically for the EJ and FA-series Subaru platforms. Every GrimmSpeed product is engineered, tested, and refined in-house, and their focus on Subaru means the fitment and function reflect a deep understanding of the specific platforms they cover. Subispeed carries the full GrimmSpeed catalog because their approach to product development consistently produces parts that perform as advertised and fit correctly out of the box.
