GrimmSpeed Hood Scoop Splitter – 2006-2007 Subaru WRX/STI

Description:

GrimmSpeed Hood Scoop Splitter , 2006-2007 Subaru WRX / STI

The GrimmSpeed Hood Scoop Splitter for the 2006-2007 Subaru WRX / STI mounts beneath the hood scoop to direct incoming ram air downward over the top mount intercooler rather than allowing it to flow over the hood scoop without contacting the intercooler. Without a splitter, a significant portion of the available ram air misses the intercooler entirely , the splitter ensures the available airflow does useful work on charge air cooling.

DETAILS

• Directs ram air from hood scoop over TMIC
• Improves intercooler cooling efficiency
• Direct mount under hood scoop
• Works with factory or aftermarket TMIC
• Fitment: 2006-2007 Subaru WRX / STI

The factory hood scoop on GD and GR generation Subarus feeds air into the engine bay in the direction of the top mount intercooler , but without a splitter, the airflow distribution is inefficient. Much of the ram air goes around rather than through the intercooler fins. The GrimmSpeed splitter mounts to the underside of the hood scoop and redirects this air toward the intercooler surface.

The result is more effective intercooler cooling from the available ram air, particularly at higher vehicle speeds where ram air pressure is significant. This translates to lower charge air temperatures and more consistent power delivery during sustained boost events. Installation requires no permanent modification to the hood or scoop.

Why Choose GrimmSpeed

GrimmSpeed has been engineering performance parts for Subaru platforms from their Portland, Oregon facility since 2003. Everything they make is designed around real-world use , their engineers drive the same cars their customers drive, which means product decisions are made with genuine platform knowledge behind them. GrimmSpeed designs parts in-house, sources quality materials, and validates fitment on the actual application before release. The result is parts that install correctly the first time, perform as advertised, and hold up under the conditions Subaru owners actually subject their cars to. Whether it is a critical engine component or a cosmetic upgrade, the same attention to detail and fit quality applies across the catalog.

The RallySport Take

The GrimmSpeed hood scoop splitter is the companion upgrade for any TMIC improvement on the 2006-2007 Subaru WRX / STI. A larger intercooler core produces maximum benefit when the airflow is actually being directed over it. A low-cost modification with meaningful impact on charge air management. Fits the 2006-2007 Subaru WRX / STI.
