GrimmSpeed Cold Air Intake Red – 2008-2014 Subaru WRX/STI / 2009-2013 Forester XT

Description:

GrimmSpeed Cold Air Intake (Red) , 2008-2014 Subaru WRX / STI

The GrimmSpeed Cold Air Intake in red for the 2008-2014 Subaru WRX / STI and 2009-2013 Forester XT replaces the factory airbox and intake tract with a free-flowing system that draws cooler, denser air from a lower position in the engine bay. The GrimmSpeed CAI uses a larger air filter element, less restrictive tubing, and positions the filter away from direct engine heat for improved intake air temperature.

DETAILS

• Color: Red intake pipe
• Relocates filter to cooler engine bay position
• Larger filter element than OEM airbox
• Less restrictive flow path than stock
• Fits: 2008-2014 Subaru WRX / STI and 2009-2013 Forester XT

The factory intake system on the EJ255/EJ257 platform prioritizes sound suppression and emissions compliance over performance. The restrictive airbox and intake tract create a pressure drop before the turbocharger inlet that limits the air mass the engine can draw. Moving the filter to a lower, cooler position reduces intake air temperature , denser air means more oxygen per cubic foot, which the engine and ECU can use to produce more power.

GrimmSpeed's intake tubing is designed for direct bolt-on installation with no sensor relocation required. The MAF sensor installs in its factory position within the intake pipe , no calibration changes are needed on most applications. The open element filter is serviceable and reusable.

Why Choose GrimmSpeed

GrimmSpeed has been engineering performance parts for Subaru platforms from their Portland, Oregon facility since 2003. Everything they make is designed around real-world use , their engineers drive the same cars their customers drive, which means product decisions are made with genuine platform knowledge behind them. GrimmSpeed designs parts in-house, sources quality materials, and validates fitment on the actual application before release. The result is parts that install correctly the first time, perform as advertised, and hold up under the conditions Subaru owners actually subject their cars to. Whether it is a critical engine component or a cosmetic upgrade, the same attention to detail and fit quality applies across the catalog.

The RallySport Take

The GrimmSpeed cold air intake is the intake upgrade for 2008-2014 Subaru WRX / STI and 2009-2013 Forester XT owners who want a genuine performance improvement with clean installation. It looks correct in the engine bay and produces a noticeably more open intake sound alongside the performance gains. Fits the 2008-2014 Subaru WRX / STI and 2009-2013 Forester XT.
