Exedy Stage 4 Twin Metallic Disc Clutch Kit – 2004-2021 Subaru STI

Description:

Exedy Stage 4 Twin Metallic Disc Clutch Kit, 2004-2021 Subaru WRX STI

The Exedy Stage 4 Twin Metallic Disc Clutch Kit for the 2004-2021 Subaru WRX STI is Exedy's twin disc system for maximum-output EJ207/EJ257 STI builds. Two metallic discs acting simultaneously provide holding capacity that no single disc can match, the correct specification for highly built STI engines where power output exceeds single-disc capability.

DETAILS

• Twin metallic disc system, maximum holding capacity
• Designed for maximum-output EJ257/EJ207 STI builds
• Significantly higher torque capacity than any single disc
• Street-compatible engagement with twin disc feel
• Fitment: 2004-2021 Subaru WRX STI 6MT

A twin disc clutch uses two friction discs and a floater plate between them, both discs engage simultaneously against the flywheel and pressure plate, doubling the friction surface area and dramatically increasing torque capacity over any single disc. The Exedy Stage 4 twin disc provides the holding capacity needed for STI builds making maximum power with upgraded turbochargers, aggressive fueling, and high-boost tune.

Despite the aggressive specification, the Exedy twin disc is engineered for street use, not purely a track component. The engagement feel is more firm and deliberate than a single disc, but the system is designed to be driven on the street without the violent engagement that some race-only twin discs exhibit. Daily driving is possible; traffic and stop-and-go require more clutch attention than a stock unit.

Why Choose Exedy

Exedy is the world's largest clutch manufacturer and the OEM supplier to more than six major vehicle manufacturers globally, including Toyota, Honda, Subaru, and Mitsubishi. Every Exedy performance clutch is designed and manufactured as a purpose-built performance component, not a modified OEM part, not a remanufactured unit, but an engineered system built specifically for performance use from the ground up. Exedy's research and development happens on actual race programs alongside their road car product development, meaning the technology that wins championships filters directly into the street performance catalog. When you install an Exedy clutch, you are installing a product from the company that builds the OEM clutch for the car it is replacing.

The RallySport Take

The Exedy Stage 4 twin disc for the STI is for builds that have pushed the EJ257 or EJ207 to power levels that overwhelm single-disc capability. If Stage 2 or Stage 3 is slipping and more power is coming, twin disc is the correct solution. Fits the 2004-2021 Subaru WRX STI with EJ207/EJ257 6MT.
