The Heavy Duty variant uses a higher-clamp pressure plate than the standard Stage 4, providing additional holding security for STI builds at the absolute top of what a twin disc can manage.

The standard Stage 4 twin disc handles virtually all street and track STI builds. The Heavy Duty variant is for builds at the absolute ceiling, extreme turbocharger upgrades, massive fueling, the kind of output that can eventually stress even the standard twin disc pressure plate. The HD clamp load increase provides an additional margin of safety at peak torque.

The pedal feel with the HD kit is firmer than the standard Stage 4. For drivers already adapted to twin disc engagement, the additional clamp is manageable.
