The FA20 naturally aspirated engine in the FT86 platform is a high-revving, VVTL-based engine that reaches peak power near 7,500 RPM. The clutch on this platform sees frequent engagement throughout the rev range, the Exedy organic disc is developed to handle repeated high-RPM engagement without glazing or fade while maintaining the light, progressive pedal feel that makes the FT86 so engaging to drive.

Stage 1 organic is the correct specification for stock and near-stock FT86 builds. The FA20 does not produce enough torque to stress a quality organic clutch, there is no reason to install a cerametallic disc on a naturally aspirated FT86 at stock power. The organic disc is lighter, engages more smoothly, and provides better rev-matching feel than a higher-stage cerametallic.
