COBB Tuning Stage 1+ Power Package Black – 2015-2019 Volkswagen Golf R (Mk7)

Description:

Cobb Stage 1+ Power Package 2015-2019 Volkswagen Golf R Mk7

The Cobb Stage 1+ Power Package for the 2015-2019 Volkswagen Golf R Mk7 provides ECU calibration with a Cobb SF Intake System for the AWD EA888 Gen3 2.0T Golf R platform. Golf R-specific OTS maps are developed independently from GTI maps to account for the R's higher factory boost, AWD drivetrain, and different operating characteristics.

DETAILS

• Includes: Cobb Accessport V3 + Cobb SF Intake System
• Platform: 2015-2019 Volkswagen Golf R Mk7 EA888 Gen3 2.0T AWD
• Golf R-specific OTS maps not GTI adaptations
• OTS maps: 91 octane, 93 octane on Golf R
• Accessport live gauges, data logging, VW-specific OBD-II code management
• NOTE: Ships via UPS/FedEx signature required at delivery

Golf R vs GTI: Why Platform-Specific Calibration Are Required

The Golf R produces significantly more power than the GTI from the same EA888 Gen3 through higher factory boost and a more aggressive calibration. Despite this, the Golf R still carries conservative ignition timing and fuel strategy relative to quality 93-octane fuel. Cobb develops Golf R OTS maps independently from GTI maps the R's higher factory boost baseline, AWD cooling requirements, and different vehicle mass mean different calibration targets are required. Applying GTI maps to a Golf R would produce incorrect boost and fueling for the R's specific operating conditions. The SF intake replaces the factory airbox with a cone filter and aluminum tube calibrated for in the Golf R-specific OTS map.

AWD Data Logging, Gauge Monitoring, and VW Diagnostic Coverage

The Accessport gauge display provides real-time boost, AFR, and thermal monitoring the factory Golf R cluster does not offer. Data logging captures all parameters including AWD system behavior at high speed for ProTuner review. VW-specific extended OBD-II codes are covered for diagnostic work alongside standard codes.

Why Choose Cobb Tuning

Cobb Tuning has been developing performance software and hardware for turbocharged enthusiast vehicles since 1999. Founded in Austin, Texas, Cobb built its reputation on the Accessport and expanded into a full catalog of hardware engineered to complement it. Every OTS map is developed in-house on real vehicles, and every hardware product is validated as part of a complete system not sourced and sold in isolation. That integrated approach is why Cobb produces consistent, reliable results across the builds we see every day.

The RallySport Take

The Cobb Stage 1+ package for the Golf R is for VW AWD performance owners who want their EA888 Gen3 and calibrated correctly for the R platform with Golf R-specific maps that account for the R's higher boost, AWD drivetrain, and different cooling characteristics versus the GTI.
