Cobb Subaru SF Blue Intake System + Airbox – 2018-2021 Subaru STI

Description:

Cobb SF Blue Intake System + Airbox 2018-2021 Subaru STI

The Cobb SF Blue Intake + Airbox package for the 2018-2021 Subaru WRX STI combines the Cobb SF Intake System with the Cobb SF Airbox the complete intake assembly replacement for Subaru builds that want improved airflow performance while maintaining an enclosed cold-air path. The SF Airbox surrounds the cone filter in a sealed structure that draws cold air from outside the engine bay heat zone, and the SF intake tube routes that air smoothly to the turbocharger inlet.

DETAILS

• Includes: Cobb SF Blue Intake System + Cobb SF Airbox
• Platform: 2018-2021 Subaru WRX STI
• SF Intake: high-flow cone filter and aluminum tube with blue coupler
• SF Airbox: enclosed cold-air box surrounds cone filter reduces heat soak vs open cone
• MAF sensor position maintained for correct air mass measurement
• Designed for use with Cobb Accessport SF intake OTS maps
• All hardware and couplers included

SF Airbox Design: Cold Air Path and Thermal Management

The SF Airbox addresses a limitation of open cone filter intakes: while a cone filter provides more surface area than an OEM panel filter, an open cone filter is exposed directly to engine bay heat. During extended driving or track sessions, the engine bay temperature rises significantly, and an open cone filter draws increasingly warm air into the intake tract. The SF Airbox encloses the cone filter in a sealed structure with a cold-air inlet that draws air from outside the hot engine bay zone, combining the airflow capacity of the cone filter with better thermal isolation than an open intake.

Airbox + Intake as a System with Accessport Calibration

The SF Intake + Airbox package is designed to be used with the Cobb Accessport SF intake OTS maps the calibration accounts for the combined airflow characteristics of the SF intake and enclosed airbox. The blue coupler between the airbox and intake tube is a visual element that is visible with the hood open. Hardware and couplers for the complete installation are included.

Why Choose Cobb Tuning

Cobb Tuning has been developing performance software and hardware for turbocharged enthusiast vehicles since 1999. Founded in Austin, Texas, Cobb built its reputation on the Accessport and expanded into a full catalog of hardware engineered to complement it. Every OTS map is developed in-house on real vehicles, and every hardware product is validated as part of a complete system not sourced and sold in isolation. That integrated approach is why Cobb produces consistent, reliable results across the builds we see every day.

The RallySport Take

The Cobb SF Blue Intake + Airbox for the 2018-2021 Subaru WRX STI is the correct complete intake system for builds that prioritize both performance improvement and thermal management in the intake tract. Designed for use with the Cobb Accessport the SF intake OTS maps load on the Accessport for a validated system.
