Cobb Stage 2 Power Package w/Silver FMIC – 2022-2026 Subaru WRX

Description:

Cobb Stage 2 Power Package Silver FMIC 2022-2026 Subaru WRX

The Cobb Stage 2 Power Package for the 2022-2026 Subaru WRX is a complete, engineered system upgrade that transforms the FA24WGT from a Stage 1 Accessport tune into a front-mount intercooled, high-boost performance package. It includes the Cobb Accessport V3, the NexGen SF Intake System, the NexGen front mount intercooler in silver finish, the NexGen FMIC pipe kit, and the NexGen boost control solenoid every component needed to move from Stage 1 to Stage 2 in a single purchase.

What Stage 2 Adds Over Stage 1

The NexGen Stage 2 system is built around three hardware changes that work together as an engineered package: the front mount intercooler, the NexGen SF intake, and the NexGen boost control solenoid. The FMIC moves charge air cooling from the top of the engine (where the factory TMIC sits, directly in the heat-soak zone) to the front bumper opening, where ambient airflow keeps charge temperatures dramatically lower. The NexGen SF intake routes air from the airbox through a wider, smoother path to the turbocharger inlet, supplying the turbocharger with the improved airflow it needs to reach Stage 2 boost targets. The NexGen boost control solenoid replaces the factory unit with a higher-response valve that allows the Accessport ECU map to execute boost control commands more precisely and reach boost levels the factory solenoid cannot maintain reliably. These three components are developed together the FMIC's cooling capacity, the intake's airflow capability, and the solenoid's control precision are all matched to each other and to the Accessport Stage 2 OTS map that orchestrates them.

System Components and NexGen Technology

The Accessport V3's Stage 2 OTS maps are calibrated specifically for the NexGen hardware configuration they are not Stage 1 maps with higher boost targets, but independently developed calibrations that account for the FMIC's lower charge air temperatures, the intake's improved airflow, and the more precise boost control the NexGen solenoid enables. On quality 93-octane fuel, the Stage 2 OTS maps target meaningfully higher boost levels than Stage 1, with ignition timing optimized for the cooler, denser charge air the FMIC delivers. The result is improved power across the entire mid-range and top end versus Stage 1, with better consistency under sustained hard driving because the FMIC keeps charge temperatures stable even on back-to-back pulls or track sessions.

Why Choose Cobb Tuning

Cobb Tuning has been developing performance software and hardware for turbocharged enthusiast vehicles since 1999. Founded in Austin, Texas, Cobb built its reputation on the Accessport and expanded into a full catalog of hardware engineered to complement it. Every OTS map is developed in-house on real vehicles, and every hardware product is validated as part of a complete system not sourced and sold in isolation. That integrated approach is why Cobb produces consistent, reliable results across the builds we see every day.

The RallySport Take

Stage 2 for the 2022-2026 WRX is the point at which the FA24WGT's performance potential becomes fully accessible. Stage 1 addresses the factory calibration conservatism Stage 2 addresses the hardware limitation that prevents the calibration from going further. The factory TMIC is the ceiling for Stage 1: with it installed, charge air temperatures limit how aggressively the Accessport map can target boost and timing without risking detonation. The NexGen FMIC removes that ceiling. The silver intercooler finish is a deliberate visual statement visible through the front bumper opening and more importantly, it is keeping charge air temperatures low lap after lap, pull after pull, in a way the factory TMIC cannot match. The entire NexGen system is developed as an integrated package, and the Stage 2 OTS maps are calibrated specifically for it. This is how the VB WRX should have come from the factory.
