Cobb Stage 1 Power Package – 2025-2026 Toyota 4Runner

Description:

Cobb Stage 1 Power Package 2025-2026 Toyota 4Runner

The Cobb Stage 1 Power Package for the 2025-2026 Toyota 4Runner combines the Cobb Accessport V3 with a high-flow drop-in air filter for the new turbocharged 4Runner platform. The 2025 4Runner marks Toyota's shift to a turbocharged four-cylinder, and Cobb's Stage 1 package addresses the factory ECU's conservative calibration with OTS maps developed specifically for the new 4Runner turbo engine on 91 and 93 octane.

New Turbocharged 4Runner: Factory Calibration and Stage 1 Development

The 2025-2026 4Runner's new turbocharged four-cylinder is conservatively calibrated from the factory the same pattern Cobb addresses across every OEM turbocharged application they support. Toyota calibrates the new 4Runner engine for broad-market reliability, fuel economy compliance, and operation across the full range of altitudes, temperatures, and fuel qualities the vehicle might encounter globally. On quality 91 or 93 octane premium fuel in the conditions North American owners actually use, that conservatism translates to throttle response that does not reflect the turbocharger's capability and power delivery that does not fully represent what the engine can produce. Cobb's OTS maps for the new 4Runner platform address these factory targets with calibrations developed specifically for this engine not adapted from another turbocharged Toyota application but developed for the new 4Runner's specific ECU, boost control architecture, and direct injection fuel system. The result is a more responsive throttle from low RPM, a boost curve that builds more confidently, and mid-range torque delivery that actually reflects the turbocharged engine specification.

Drop-In Filter, Trail-Use Gauges, and Platform-Specific OTS Maps

The high-flow drop-in filter improves airflow to the turbocharger inlet while retaining the factory airbox and cold-air path. No intake plumbing changes are required the filter drops into the factory housing and the OTS map accounts for its improved airflow. The Accessport gauge display is particularly valuable for 4Runner owners who use their vehicles in demanding conditions monitoring boost, intake air temperature, coolant temperature, and AFR on a trail run or loaded mountain drive gives real-time information that the factory instrument cluster never provides. The Accessport also functions as a full OBD-II code reader for the 4Runner platform.

Why Choose Cobb Tuning

Cobb Tuning has been developing performance software and hardware for turbocharged enthusiast vehicles since 1999. Founded in Austin, Texas, Cobb built its reputation on the Accessport and expanded into a full catalog of hardware engineered to complement it. Every OTS map is developed in-house on real vehicles, and every hardware product is validated as part of a complete system not sourced and sold in isolation. That integrated approach is why Cobb produces consistent, reliable results across the builds we see every day.

The RallySport Take

The new turbocharged 4Runner represents Toyota's recognition that forced induction produces better real-world performance than displacement alone for this application. Stage 1 ensures that the turbocharged engine delivers on that premise with calibration developed by Cobb for this specific platform rather than a factory tune built for the broadest possible market.
