Cobb Stage 1 Power Package – 2023-2025 Subaru Ascent / Outback XT & Wilderness

Description:

Cobb Stage 1 Power Package 2023-2025 Subaru Ascent / Outback XT & Wilderness /

The Cobb Stage 1 Power Package for the 2023-2026 Subaru Ascent, Outback XT, Wilderness, Legacy XT, and Forester XT combines the Cobb Accessport V3 with a high-flow drop-in air filter for the FA24F turbocharged crossover platform. The FA24F crossover lineup is calibrated substantially more conservatively than the WRX's FA24WGT Subaru prioritizes fuel economy, smoothness, and reliability for broad driving conditions in these vehicles, leaving the FA24F's performance potential significantly underutilized.

DETAILS

• Includes: Cobb Accessport V3 + Cobb high-flow drop-in filter
• Covers: 2023-2025 Subaru Ascent, Outback XT/Wilderness

• Meaningful improvement in throttle response and mid-range torque from OTS map
• High-flow filter: drop-in for factory airbox
• Accessport live gauges: boost, AFR, IAT, coolant temp in real time
• NOTE: Ships via UPS/FedEx signature required at delivery

FA24F Crossover Calibration: Built for Different Priorities

The FA24F in the Ascent, Outback XT, and related models shares its turbocharged four-cylinder architecture with the WRX's FA24WGT but is calibrated for priorities almost opposite to the WRX. Where the FA24WGT tune is developed for performance responsiveness, the FA24F crossover calibration deliberately softens throttle response to reduce the perception of the turbo's involvement, builds boost gradually to prevent any sensation of the engine surging, and pulls ignition timing back significantly from what the FA24F can support on quality premium fuel. This conservatism serves Subaru's broad-market goals comfortable daily driving for the family crossover buyer but leaves substantial performance potential unused for owners who want more from the FA24F. Cobb's OTS maps for these platforms address the conservatism with FA24F-specific calibrations developed for these specific crossover applications, not WRX maps applied to a different body. The result is an engine that responds to throttle inputs the way a turbocharged vehicle should, with boost building more confidently and the mid-range pull feeling like the FA24F's turbocharger is actually working.

Drop-In Filter, Real-Time Monitoring, and What Stage 1 Delivers

The high-flow drop-in filter improves airflow to the FA24F's turbocharger inlet while retaining the factory airbox and cold-air path. No intake plumbing changes are required. The Accessport gauge display is a practical tool for crossover owners who push their vehicles monitoring boost pressure, coolant temperature, and intake air temperature during a loaded mountain pass or a towing run with the Wilderness shows real-time data the factory Subaru instrument cluster never provides. The Accessport also serves as an OBD-II code reader for these platforms.

Why Choose Cobb Tuning

Cobb Tuning has been developing performance software and hardware for turbocharged enthusiast vehicles since 1999. Founded in Austin, Texas, Cobb built its reputation on the Accessport and expanded into a full catalog of hardware engineered to complement it. Every OTS map is developed in-house on real vehicles, and every hardware product is validated as part of a complete system not sourced and sold in isolation. That integrated approach is why Cobb produces consistent, reliable results across the builds we see every day.

The RallySport Take

The gap between the FA24F crossover's factory calibration and its actual performance potential is larger than on the WRX, because the factory calibration is calibrated for such different priorities. That makes the Stage 1 improvement proportionally more noticeable on these platforms. Subaru FA24F crossover owners who have been underwhelmed by the turbocharged engine's response will find Stage 1 genuinely transformative.
