ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate MB18 – 2003-2015 Mitsubishi Evo 8/9/X

Description:

ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate for the 2003-2015 Mitsubishi Evo 8/9/X

The ACT Heavy Duty Replacement Pressure Plate for 2003-2015 Mitsubishi Evo 8/9/X is the standalone pressure plate for use when replacing only the pressure plate on an existing ACT or compatible clutch setup. The Heavy Duty plate provides increased clamp load over OEM using ACT's precision-stamped cover and four-stage heat-treated diaphragm.

DETAILS

• Pressure plate type: ACT Heavy Duty
• Clamp load: increased clamp load over OEM
• Reference: MB18
• Four-stage heat-treated diaphragm
• Precision cover stamping for rigidity
• Fitment: 2003-2015 Mitsubishi Evo 8/9/X

ACT pressure plates use a proprietary diaphragm design that increases clamp load and reduces deflection compared to OEM units. The four-stage heat treatment process gives the diaphragm fatigue resistance to maintain consistent clamp load through repeated heat cycles. The precision cover stamping eliminates the flex that causes inconsistent engagement feel in lesser pressure plates.

The standalone pressure plate is for builds where the clutch disc is still serviceable but the pressure plate needs replacement, or for owners who are upgrading the pressure plate tier while keeping an existing disc. Confirm the disc compatibility with the MB18 reference before ordering.

Why Choose ACT

Advanced Clutch Technology has been manufacturing performance clutch systems in the United States since 1993. Every ACT pressure plate uses a proprietary diaphragm design that increases clamp load and reduces deflection compared to OEM units, and every diaphragm goes through a four-stage heat-treating process before it leaves the factory. The result is a clutch system that holds more power than the stock unit, engages more precisely, and lasts longer under the kind of driving that wears factory clutches out quickly. ACT designs each application from scratch rather than modifying OEM tooling, which means the fitment is precise and the performance is intentional. Whether the build is a street-driven daily driver or a dedicated track car, ACT offers a kit at the correct specification for the use.

The RallySport Take

The ACT Heavy Duty pressure plate is the standalone plate replacement for this application used when upgrading the pressure plate tier within an existing clutch setup or replacing a worn plate while keeping a serviceable disc. ACT's precision cover stamping and four-stage heat-treated diaphragm design produce the correct clamp load for this application without unnecessary pedal weight increase. Installing a new pressure plate against an old disc is not recommended if the disc is also worn, a complete kit is the better approach. Fits Mitsubishi applications 2003-2015.
