ACT Alignment Tool – 2013-2015 Ford Focus ST

Description:

ACT Clutch Alignment Tool for the 2013-2015 Ford Focus ST

The ACT Clutch Alignment Tool for 2013-2015 Ford Focus ST is an application-specific alignment mandrel for centering the clutch disc during installation. Proper clutch disc centering is required before torquing the pressure plate bolts, an off-center disc prevents the input shaft from engaging the pilot bearing correctly and can cause installation difficulties or premature failure.

DETAILS

• Clutch alignment tool
• Centers clutch disc during installation
• Required for correct clutch installation
• Application-specific or universal sizing
• Reusable

The alignment tool is inserted through the clutch disc hub and into the pilot bearing during pressure plate installation. It holds the disc centered while the pressure plate bolts are torqued, then is removed before the transmission is installed. Without the alignment tool, the disc can shift off-center during bolt torquing and jam against the pilot bearing when the input shaft is inserted.

ACT alignment tools are sized to match the pilot bearing diameter and disc hub dimensions for the application. A correctly-sized tool makes clutch installation straightforward, trying to use an incorrectly sized improvised alignment tool is a common source of installation frustration.

Why Choose ACT

Advanced Clutch Technology has been manufacturing performance clutch systems in the United States since 1993. Every ACT pressure plate uses a proprietary diaphragm design that increases clamp load and reduces deflection compared to OEM units, and every diaphragm goes through a four-stage heat-treating process before it leaves the factory. The result is a clutch system that holds more power than the stock unit, engages more precisely, and lasts longer under the kind of driving that wears factory clutches out quickly. ACT designs each application from scratch rather than modifying OEM tooling, which means the fitment is precise and the performance is intentional. Whether the build is a street-driven daily driver or a dedicated track car, ACT offers a kit at the correct specification for the use.

The RallySport Take

The ACT alignment tool is not optional it is how you center the clutch disc correctly before torquing the pressure plate bolts. Without it, the disc shifts during installation and the input shaft cannot engage the pilot bearing properly. The tool is sized specifically for the pilot bearing diameter and disc hub of this application. Insert it through the disc hub and into the pilot bearing, install the pressure plate with the disc held centered, torque the bolts to spec, then remove the tool before sliding the transmission in. Reusable. Fits Ford applications 2013-2015.
