ACT 06-25 Subaru WRX XT/Race Sprung 6 Pad Clutch Kit

Description:

ACT Xtreme Race Sprung 6-Pad Clutch Kit for Subaru WRX and EJ-Series Models

The ACT Xtreme Race Sprung 6-Pad Clutch Kit for the 2006-2026 Subaru WRX and EJ-series models is the sprung-hub version of the Xtreme 6-pad race kit. The spring-center construction in the disc properly damps torsional vibrations, it is more aggressive than the Performance Street sprung disc but less abrupt than the rigid 6-pad. For builds that need the 6-pad's heat capacity and ceramic friction performance but where some driveline compliance is still acceptable.

DETAILS

• Pressure plate: ACT Xtreme, maximum clamp load
• Clutch disc: 6-pad spring-centered race
• Disc material: ceramic friction material
• Hub: chrome-moly, heat-treated, spring-center construction
• Spring retainers: wraparound windows, thicker stampings
• Clamp load: maximum Xtreme level
• Use case: aggressive street/track builds requiring heat capacity
• Engagement: harsher than street disc, less abrupt than rigid

The spring-center hub construction in the 6-pad sprung disc properly damps the torsional vibrations that a rigid disc transmits directly into the driveline. ACT's spring retainers use wraparound spring windows and thicker retainer stampings, this design provides spring support and reduces stress concentrations at the spring contact points, which is a common failure point in lesser spring-hub designs. The result is a more durable spring-center disc that resists failure under harsh repeated loading.

The 6-pad configuration provides the same thermal performance as the rigid 6-pad, six ceramic pads for heat distribution, with the added compliance of the spring center. On high-power EJ-series builds used for aggressive street driving or mixed street/track use, the sprung 6-pad is a better choice than the rigid because it damps the driveline shocks that occur on hard engagement.

Why Choose ACT

Advanced Clutch Technology has been manufacturing performance clutch systems in the United States since 1993. Every ACT pressure plate uses a proprietary diaphragm design that increases clamp load and reduces deflection compared to OEM units, and every diaphragm goes through a four-stage heat-treating process before it leaves the factory. The result is a clutch system that holds more power than the stock unit, engages more precisely, and lasts longer under the kind of driving that wears factory clutches out quickly. ACT designs each application from scratch rather than modifying OEM tooling, which means the fitment is precise and the performance is intentional. Whether the build is a street-driven daily driver or a dedicated track car, ACT offers a kit at the correct specification for the use.

The RallySport Take

The ACT Xtreme 6-pad Sprung race kit is the correct choice for builds that see both track and street use. The ceramic pads provide the heat capacity you need for sustained hard driving, and the spring-center hub construction damps the torsional shocks that rigid discs transmit directly to the drivetrain. ACT's wraparound spring window design and thicker retainer stampings make the spring center more durable under repeated hard engagement than standard designs. The result is a clutch that performs like a race disc at the track and does not punish you for driving home afterward. Fits Subaru applications 2005,2007-2025.
