GrimmSpeed Master Cylinder Brace – 2003-2006 Mitsubishi Evo 8/9

Description:

GrimmSpeed Master Cylinder Brace , 2003-2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII/IX

The GrimmSpeed Master Cylinder Brace for the 2003-2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII/IX braces the brake master cylinder against the firewall, reducing the flex that occurs in the brake pedal feel under hard braking. Without a master cylinder brace, the master cylinder can move slightly under hard pedal pressure , this movement is felt as a soft or spongy sensation in the pedal that does not correspond to air in the brake lines.

DETAILS

• Braces master cylinder against firewall
• Reduces pedal flex under hard braking
• Improves brake pedal firmness and feel
• Bolt-on installation , no permanent modification
• Includes hardware
• Fitment: 2003-2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII/IX

The brake master cylinder on the 2003-2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII/IX is bolted to the firewall at a single point. Under hard pedal pressure , particularly in performance driving or emergency braking , the master cylinder flexes forward slightly against the brake pedal push. This flex is transmitted back through the pedal as a soft feeling that many drivers interpret as insufficient braking power. The GrimmSpeed master cylinder brace creates a second bracing point that eliminates this flex.

The improvement in pedal feel is immediate and measurable , the brake pedal feels firmer and more direct with the brace installed, and the threshold where the driver detects the car's actual braking limit becomes more accessible. Installation is bolt-on using existing mounting points with no permanent modification to the firewall or firewall components.

Why Choose GrimmSpeed

GrimmSpeed has been engineering performance parts for Subaru platforms from their Portland, Oregon facility since 2003. Everything they make is designed around real-world use , their engineers drive the same cars their customers drive, which means product decisions are made with genuine platform knowledge behind them. GrimmSpeed designs parts in-house, sources quality materials, and validates fitment on the actual application before release. The result is parts that install correctly the first time, perform as advertised, and hold up under the conditions Subaru owners actually subject their cars to. Whether it is a critical engine component or a cosmetic upgrade, the same attention to detail and fit quality applies across the catalog.

The RallySport Take

The master cylinder brace is a modification that changes brake pedal feel in a way that improves confidence and control during performance driving. Track day drivers in particular benefit from the more direct pedal response. Fits the 2003-2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII/IX.
