Description:
GrimmSpeed Billet Top Mount Intercooler for the 2022-2024 Subaru WRX
The GrimmSpeed Billet Top Mount Intercooler for the 2022-2024 Subaru WRX is a direct replacement for the VB's factory TMIC, engineered to improve charge cooling efficiency on the FA24WGT's turbocharged platform. The factory top mount intercooler on the VB WRX is a restriction point at higher boost levels or in sustained high-load conditions , the GrimmSpeed unit provides a larger core volume and improved flow path.
DETAILS
- Direct OEM top mount replacement
- Larger core than OEM
- Improved charge cooling at elevated boost
- Maintains factory airbox and intake routing
- Billet construction
- Fitment: 2022-2024 Subaru WRX FA24WGT
The FA24WGT in the VB WRX makes more power than any previous WRX engine in stock form, and the factory TMIC reflects its origins as an OEM cost-managed component rather than a performance piece. Under sustained boost , on a highway pull, a track lap, or back-to-back runs , charge air temperatures rise faster than they should and the power delivery becomes inconsistent. The GrimmSpeed TMIC's larger core volume absorbs and dissipates that heat more effectively.
Installation is a direct replacement of the factory TMIC , same mounting points, same connection locations, no cutting or custom fabrication required. The GrimmSpeed TMIC is designed to work with the VB WRX's factory intake system and charge pipe routing, which means the installation is straightforward even without professional fabrication experience.

Why Choose GrimmSpeed
GrimmSpeed has been engineering performance parts for Subaru platforms from their Portland, Oregon facility since 2003. Everything they make is designed around real-world use , their engineers drive the same cars their customers drive, which means product decisions are made with genuine platform knowledge behind them. GrimmSpeed designs parts in-house, sources quality materials, and validates fitment on the actual application before release. The result is parts that install correctly the first time, perform as advertised, and hold up under the conditions Subaru owners actually subject their cars to. Whether it is a critical engine component or a cosmetic upgrade, the same attention to detail and fit quality applies across the catalog.
The RallySport Take
The VB WRX TMIC is the first intercooler upgrade we recommend for this platform. It produces a measurable difference in charge temps that is felt in consistent power delivery, particularly in the conditions where the factory TMIC falls short , back-to-back runs, track days, or extended highway driving in warm weather. Fits the 2022-2024 Subaru WRX with FA24WGT.
