Cobb Sway Bar Package – 2015-2021 Subaru WRX

Description:

Cobb Sway Bar Package 2015-2021 Subaru WRX

The Cobb Sway Bar Package for the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX includes front and rear hollow steel sway bars with polyurethane mounting bushings and end links. The package improves the VA WRX's handling balance and reduces body roll compared to the factory sway bars.

VA WRX Handling Balance and Hollow Steel Construction

A sway bar also called an anti-roll bar connects the left and right suspension corners through a torsional spring that resists the body roll generated during cornering. When the car corners, weight transfers to the outside wheels and the body rolls away from the corner. The sway bar transfers some of this load back to the inside wheel, keeping both suspension corners working more evenly and reducing the angle of body roll. A stiffer sway bar produces less body roll for a given cornering load the car stays flatter through corners, the suspension geometry changes less, and the driver experiences more predictable, communicative handling. The front and rear sway bars work together to define the car's handling balance: a stiffer front bar increases understeer tendency; a stiffer rear bar increases oversteer tendency. The correct combination is determined by the chassis balance goals of the build.

Body Roll Reduction and Polyurethane Bushing Compliance

Cobb's sway bars use hollow steel construction rather than solid hollow bars provide the same torsional stiffness as a heavier solid bar at reduced weight. The reduced unsprung weight from a hollow bar compared to a heavier solid unit is a genuine improvement in suspension response speed. End links are included with the sway bar packages the end links connect the sway bar ends to the strut or knuckle, and the correct end link geometry is important for the sway bar to operate through its full range of motion without bind. Polyurethane bushings are included at the sway bar mounting points, providing more consistent and durable compliance than factory rubber mounts that deflect and change the sway bar's effective stiffness under load.

Why Choose Cobb Tuning

Cobb Tuning has been developing performance software and hardware for turbocharged enthusiast vehicles since 1999. Founded in Austin, Texas, Cobb built its reputation on the Accessport and expanded into a full catalog of hardware engineered to complement it. Every OTS map is developed in-house on real vehicles, and every hardware product is validated as part of a complete system not sourced and sold in isolation. That integrated approach is why Cobb produces consistent, reliable results across the builds we see every day.

The RallySport Take

The Cobb Sway Bar Package for the 2015-2021 WRX transforms the VA platform's handling character from a capable all-around car into a more communicative, confidence-inspiring performance car. The factory sway bars allow more body roll than the FA20DIT's power and the VA chassis's capability warrant the Cobb bars tighten that relationship and produce a car that responds more directly to driver inputs in corners.
