COBB 1.5in Lift Kit – 2015-2021 Subaru WRX/STI

Description:

Cobb 1.5-Inch Lift Kit 2015-2021 Subaru WRX / STI

The Cobb 1.5-Inch Lift Kit for the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX and STI uses precision-machined strut top spacers to raise the suspension by 1.5 inches, improving ground clearance, suspension travel, and approach and departure angles for adverse weather driving or light off-road use. The spacers are machined to maintain factory strut angle and geometry at the raised ride height.

DETAILS

• Platform: 2015-2021 Subaru WRX FA20DIT and WRX STI EJ257
• Lift: 1.5 inches via strut top spacers
• Precision-machined spacers maintain factory strut angle at raised height
• Increased ground clearance improved adverse weather and light off-road capability
• Additional suspension travel before bump stop contact
• Reversible remove spacers to return to factory ride height
• Four-wheel alignment required after installation

Strut Top Spacer Design: Maintaining Geometry at Raised Height

The Cobb Lift Kit uses machined spacers that install between the suspension strut top mount and the chassis to add ride height to the lowered suspension. On factory-lowered platforms like the 2015-2021 WRX/STI and 2022-2026 WRX, which came from the factory with lower ride height than previous generations, the lift kit raises the suspension geometry back toward a position more appropriate for off-road capable driving clearing larger tires, improving approach and departure angles, and providing additional suspension travel before the bump stop is contacted. The lift kit works differently from a conventional suspension lift: it adds height at the top of the strut rather than by changing spring length, which means the spring rate and shock absorber travel are not altered.

Ground Clearance, Suspension Travel, and Reversible Installation

The Lift Kit spacers are precision-machined to maintain the strut alignment angle at the increased height the factory camber and caster geometry is preserved rather than being thrown off by an imprecise spacer that simply moves the strut top upward without accounting for the angle change. After installation, a wheel alignment is required to correct any camber and toe changes that result from the ride height change. The lift kit is reversible removing the spacers returns the suspension to factory ride height. For Outback and WRX owners who want improved ground clearance for light off-road, overlanding, or adverse weather use, the lift kit addresses the capability limitation of the lowered factory suspension geometry.

Why Choose Cobb Tuning

Cobb Tuning has been developing performance software and hardware for turbocharged enthusiast vehicles since 1999. Founded in Austin, Texas, Cobb built its reputation on the Accessport and expanded into a full catalog of hardware engineered to complement it. Every OTS map is developed in-house on real vehicles, and every hardware product is validated as part of a complete system not sourced and sold in isolation. That integrated approach is why Cobb produces consistent, reliable results across the builds we see every day.

The RallySport Take

The Cobb 1.5-Inch Lift Kit for the 2015-2021 WRX and STI is for owners who use their car in conditions where the factory ride height limits capability deep snow, unpaved access roads, or aggressive off-road tracks. The VA WRX and STI's factory suspension is lower than previous Subaru generations, which limits the approach angle and ground clearance that made earlier WRX models capable in adverse conditions. The Cobb lift kit restores that capability without requiring a suspension system replacement.
